Birds Trip in Nepal can be the best trip to take to Nepal due to the vegetation and habitat that has been home to hundreds of species of birds from all over the world. Various National parks like Chitwan National Park and Bardia National Park are popular places to encounter a variety of birds besides Kathmandu Valley. Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is also among a perfect destination getting multiple species of migratory and resident birds.
Some of the famous bird species are Lophophorous, Eagle-owl, Dusky, Bengal Africans, fish eagles, Woodpeckers, Barn owls, Cranes, Bulbuls, Leaf Birds, Sparroes, Kingfishers and many others. Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan Intl airport, our representative will be waiting to welcome you and assists you to transfer into your hotel in Kathmandu. In the evening you'll be transferred for a welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurants with cultural & musical programs in the heart of Kathmandu. Here, we will also have a short briefing about your trip and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 02: Bird tour to Kathmandu
On the second day, after breakfast, you will be transferred to Birdwatching trips in Kathmandu. We will visit places like Khokana village, Godawari garden, Bugmati village, and Kirtipur panga Paddi field to explore the birds. In these areas, we will have many opportunities to see birds. The trip also provides panoramic mountain views, glimpses of different animals, and enjoy the local people's culture and traditions. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Fly to Biratnagar & transfer to Koshi Tappu
After breakfast, you will have a flight scheduled for Biratnagar, so you will be transferred to the domestic airport for one and half hour scenic flight to Biratnagar. We will then transfer you to the hotel by private vehicle to Koshi Tappu. Overnight at the camp.
Day 04: Bird-watching tour to Koshi Tappu
Koshi Tappu is the most important wetland for migratory water birds in Nepal, and one of the most important in Asia. A total of 485 bird species have been recorded here. It has the largest heronry in Nepal and 20 globally threatened bird species have been recorded. This is especially important for some wetland and grassland species, notably Swamp Francolin, Baer's Pochard, Pallas's Fish Eagle, Greater Spotted Eagle, Lesser Adjutant, Spot-billed Pelican, and Bristled Grassbird. Other globally threatened animal species include Ganges Dolphin, Nilgai, Smooth-coated Otter, Gharial, and Red-crowned Roof Turtle and overnight at the camp.
Day 05: Further Bird-watching tour to Koshi Tappu
On the fifth day, you will get ample opportunities for bird watching along with other mammals in the area of Koshi Tappu. As mentioned previously, the place has multiple species of bird, alongside some globally threatened ones. The Tappu is not just the home for birds but also some wetland and grassland species. However, not all species are guaranteed a sight and will depend largely upon the day and the species itself. Once we complete the course of the day, we will rest there in a hotel for the night.
Day 06: Drive to Chitwan National Park
After breakfast in the hotel, you will be transferred by private vehicle to Chitwan which will take only about 9-10 hours. We will be driving through the countryside to reach Chitwan. You will be transferred to the hotel in Chitwan. After checking in to the hotel and being refreshed, you will be briefed about full nature programs by our nature guide and head on for the following activities. After the briefing about the nature programs, you will be guided on a village walk and sunset view. We will also visit the elephant breeding center and go for an evening dinner with a cultural program. Overnight.
Day 07: Bird tour to Chitwan National Park
The Chitwan national park is one of the important bird areas because of its international importance for threatened species and their habitat conservation. Moreover, this park is not only endowed with rich biodiversity, but also an equally rich cultural heritage. A total of 540 bird species have been recorded in Chitwan. Two-thirds of Nepal's globally threatened bird species have been recorded in Chitwan. The site is especially important for several grassland species, including Bengal Florican, Grey-crowned Prinia Cinereocapilla, Slender-billed Babbler, Turdoides longirostris, and also for Lesser Adjutant. It is the only Nepalese locality where the Slender-billed Babbler has been recorded and it may support a larger population than any other area in the Indian subcontinent. Chitwan is the only Nepal site where Grey-crowned Prinia is common and it may also hold the largest population in the species range. The globally threatened Indian Spotted Eagle has bred in the park, one of its few known-breeding localities in Nepal. A large proportion of 15 out of 22 of Nepal's near-threatened birds has been found in Chitwan. You will be transferred to the Elephant back safari for a jungle excursion on this day. After lunch, you will also have a chance to view an elephant bath and bird watching in the forest area. We will again take on the canoe ride and jungle walk. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 08: Drive to Kathmandu
You will be taken to see more birds on the river bank of Rapti, where you can find more than 250 species of bird. And after finishing breakfast you will then depart to Kathmandu by private transportation.
Day 09: Bird tour to Sivapuri Conservation Area
You will be waking up early in the morning on the ninth day, as you will be transferred to the domestic airport for the mountain flight. In the afternoon, you will be transferred for bird watching tour around the Shivapuri Conservation area. Shivapuri National Park lies on the northern side of the Kathmandu Valley. It was established as a wildlife reserve in 1985 but measures for its protection were initiated as early as 1975 under the Shivapuri Watershed Development Board. It was designated a national park in 2003. It is the main source of the rivers Bagmati and Vishnumati that flow the southern slopes of the mountain. A total of 178 species of birds have been recorded in Shivapuri and even many more species can be likely to occur. The park has good populations of Spiny Babbler and Hoary-throated Barwing, two-restricted-range species. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 10: Departure
This day can be a spare day for you to shop for souvenirs or gifts for your family, friends, or relatives for you until your departure flight or commencing any extra trips or activities. If you are ready for departing, you'll be taken to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onward destination.

The bird found only in Nepal, Spiny Babbler, is the rare bird in Nepal. More than 800 species of the bird are found in Nepal but Spiny Babbler is the only one that in endemic to Nepal.
Nepal is the home to more than 850 species of birds. Among them, the most of them are found within the places in Kathmandu valley like Kathmandu, Phulchoki, Godavari, Taudaha and others.
As per the rports, Baer's pochard, Eurasian Curlew, Eurasian Spoonbill, Pallas's fish eagle, and Caspian tern are not found in Nepal. These were found previously in 2000 and not found now.
The Danphe is the national bird of Nepal, which is also the largest bird. Among the species of birds, the national bird, Danphe is a kind of beautiful bird in Nepal.
