Itinerary

Welcome to the Himalayan country of Nepal. Our representative will be waiting for you at the Tribhuvan International Airport to welcome you and assists you to transfer into your hotel in Kathmandu. After getting some time to get refreshed, you'll meet again in the evening. We will then go for the welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurants in the heart of Kathmandu where we will have a short briefing about the trip, overnight at the Hotel.

After breakfast the day will start with our guided trip around cultural world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley; the pilgrimage sites of the Hindu temple Pashupatinath, the world's biggest Bouddhanath Stupa, and the monkey temple Swoyambhunath Stupa. After exploring the surrounding areas, we will also visit the historical Kathmandu Durbar Square to explore its temples, unique architecture, and Kumari (living goddess). We'll have an evening pre-trip discussion and introduction session with our fellow trekking staff for your adventure trip.

We'll take an early morning drive in a private vehicle to Pokhara through the beautiful Nepalese countryside to reach the Pokhara lakeside. We check in to the hotel after we reach Pokhara. You can spend the rest of the time exploring the surrounding lakeside areas.  Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, we will take an early morning flight to Jomsom. A super scenic flight of 20 minutes will bring you to Jomsom, the district headquarters of Mustang. From Jomsom, we will continue our trek on the gradual & windy path to reach the Kali Gandaki riverbed for about three hours. We stop at Ekley-Bhatti village. After a good stop here, we walk for an hour of easy walk that will take us to Kagbeni, the bank of two rivers. Kagbeni is an interesting wind-swept village situated on the main age-old Trans Himalayan salt trade route to Tibet via the Upper Mustang area. Overnight at Kagbeni.

We will start our trek to Muktinath on this day. Firstly, we will walk in an arid area and steeply climb up to the ridge for an hour. We further take a gentle uphill, from where we get a scenic view of Annapurna and Tukuche as well as the Upper Mustang part. We will cross the small villages to reach Jharkot. It is a great place to encounter local Thakali with its traditional dresses. There is a very old monastery made around 500 years before in Jharkot. You can also enjoy the local culture in the place. After walking for half an hour climb up from Jharkot to the hill, we will reach Muktinath which is a superb scenic Himalayan range and arid area. You will have a chance to encounter many brave trekkers who came through crossing the Throung la (5,416 m) from the Manang side in this region. You can also explore the surrounding areas and overnight at the hotel.

We will visit the temple in the morning and continue our journey descending to the Kaligandaki river valley floor, with a brief stop at Ekle Bhatti. The valley gets a very windy path afterward the Ekle Bhatti, which is also known as the lonely tea house. The walk will then follow the gentle trail for another two hours till we reach the large town of Jomsom. After lunch at Jomsom, we'll walk for about two hours of easy walk towards south east which brings us to Marpha for the overnight stop. Marpha is a little gem, with whitewashed houses, paved streets, and numerous well-kept lodges. Here you will have time to celebrate with local apple products like cider, brandy, and juice. You can also get dinner with apple pie.

The walk will be very enjoyable following the Kaligandaki River downstream that reaches a charming village at Tukuche, close beneath the Tukuche peak and Dhaulagiri. You will also get spectacular views of Mt. Nilgiri and the massif icefalls which tumbles from the Dhaualgiri's east face.
