Pikey Peak Trek is a wonderful and very less-traveled route in the Everest Region. Most of the people who travel to Pikey Peak say that the view of Mount Everest from Pikey Peak is one of the best views of Everest. Even Sir Edmund Hillary claimed the statement to be true. The Pikey Peak is a flexible trek that can even be completed in three full-on days or more leisurely or 8 to 9 days.

Pikey Peak Trek Trip Introduction:

The trek is best for you if you're looking for a quick and short hike in the lower Everest region. If you're feeling very fit or are just short on time, the trek can be completed within a very few days. The itinerary allows for a physical workout without any stress. It also lets you through the monasteries, gompas, and stupas. You'll get amazing views of Mt. Everest with a view of the Numbur Himal range.

Given its lower elevation than most treks in Nepal, Pikey Peak is spectacular in the spring, fall, and winter as well. However, as this walk can be very wet in this area during the monsoon, it is recommended to avoid it during that time.

Detailed Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary:

DAY 1: Arrival in Kathmandu(1,300m /4,264 ft)
When you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our representatives who will bring you straight to your hotel. After cleaning up from your travels for the day, you'll meet the other staff members and guides. After finishing the day's activities, you will be free to head to the neighborhood market to spend the evening.

Day 02: Drive to Dhap and Trek to Japre (2920m/9580 ft)
The second day of the trek will begin with a long trip of 8 to 9 hours from Kathmandu to Dhap. Dhap is a municipality of the Solukhumbu region of Nepal. You can interact with the huge numbers of Brahmin and Chettri ethnic groups who live here. You'll start your adventure at Dhap. Eventually, after coming further away, you'll arrive at Sigane, where you will start the sight of Himalayan peaks like Numbur Himal. We'll continue on the path that will take us to the settlement of Japre, which is located at a height of 2,920 meters. This settlement will offer us stunning views of Mt. Everest and the Numbur Himal, as well as a tiny Gompa to visit.

Day 03: Trek to Pikey Base Camp (3640m/11,942Ft)
The hike to the Pikey Base Camp will start on the third day of the trek. We'll depart from Japre and go down the trail in the direction of Bhulbhule. Here, we'll see an unnamed lodge with a good view of Everest and the nearby mountain ranges. We'll head toward the Pikey Peak Base Camp after leaving the place, Bhulbhule. We'll pass by historic yak huts and Mani stone walls on the route. We'll then travel through the woodlands on the path that runs beneath the Takung Danda. Beautiful Rhododendron blossoms can be seen along the trail in the spring. After leaving the jungle, it will take us around two hours of hiking to get to Pikey Base Camp. The 4,065m peak is simply a short ascent from the base camp. Early in the morning, we will reach the summit to see the magnificent Himalayan sunrise.

Day 04: Sunrise at Pikey Peak and Trek to Loding (2,515m/8,251 ft)
The journey will start in the early morning of this day. As we follow the path to the summit, which is lined with prayer flags, we will catch glimpses of some stunning vistas. The panoramic vistas of Annapurna, Kanchenjunga, and the neighboring mountains will transport truly breathtaking in good weather. We'll descend along the flat ridgeline that will steepen as we reach the forest after taking in the tranquil day break from the top of Pikey Peak. We'll go through the forest to reach Jase Bhanjyang, where we'll have our breakfast. We'll head to Loding, a VDC in the Solukhumbu District, after breakfast.

Day 05: Trek from Loding to Junbesi and Explore Thubtenchoeling Monastery (3100m/10,168 ft)
On this day, we will reach Jase Bhanjyang after descending the mountain's highest cliff, where we will eat breakfast. Then, we'll take a detour to get to Junbesi. We will follow the trail through Jase before descending sharply to the ancient forest. We'll reach Traktor as we will travel through the jungle. We'll travel the trail from Traktor to Junbesi, an ethnic Sherpa settlement in lower Solukumbu, which takes a few hours and is situated at an elevation of 2,675 meters. For members of the Sherpa ethnic group, whose territory borders Tibet, Solukumbu is a sacred valley. The monasteries and gompas along the route will reflect the Buddhism that the locals practice. The Jiri-EBC trail will intersect with this route. Since the tea houses in this region are more developed, more tourists will be present.

Day 06: Trek from Junbesi to Taksindu (2,960m/9,711 ft)
As we will set out on our journey to Taksindu, we will cross a river and hike through a forest that will take us to Salung. On clear days, Salung will offer us breathtaking views of Makalu, Chamlang, and Mount Everest. The breathtaking views will continue over the valley to Chiwong Monastery as they will descend toward Phalpu. As we approach a brook, the trail will continue to contour the mountainside before dropping. Then, after a brief ascent, we will reach Ringmo, a region renowned for its apple orchards and associated goods like apple pie, apple cider, and alcohol. After a brief ascent from Ringmo, we will reach Taksindu La, which will offer breathtaking Himalayan views. We will then descend till we arrive at Taksindu Monastery and our lodging. We'll tour the 1946-built Taksindu Monastery.

Day 07: Trek from Taksindu to Phaplu and Explore Chiwong Gompa (2,459m/8,067 ft)
On this day, we will deviate from the normal hiking route. We will take a lovely woodland path to Phaplu. A trek to Chiwong Gompa, which is perched on a cliff and offers a panoramic view of the valley will be another alternative. The Mani Rimdu festival, which is held in the fall, is celebrated in the Chiwong Gompa, which was established in 1923 AD. The day's trekking will come to a conclusion as we will continue to descend to Phaplu.

Day 08: Drive from Phaplu to Kathmandu
Our stay in this village will end on this day. We'll say goodbye to the cultures, architecture, and stunning Himalayan views before heading back to Kathmandu. We'll take in the scenery as we will be returning taking the way we came. We'll take you back to your hotel as soon as we reach Kathmandu. You can rest afterward. You will have plenty of time on your hands, which you can use by taking a stroll through the chaotic city of Katmandu.

Day 09: Departure
Your trip will finally come to an end on the ninth day of the trip. Three hours before your flight, one of our airport representatives will pick you up and take you to the airport. We'll say goodbye with the hopes of running into you on your upcoming excursion.
