Trip Intraduction:
Druk Yul Trek is a short trip that starts with a splendid view of the pristine beauty of the Dragon kingdom of Bhutan. Your journey takes you to traditional villages, through stunning woodlands, past imposing fortresses, serene monasteries and bustling markets, into the heartland of the Drukpa (Bhutanese) people. 
 
During the trip, one can have utmost opportunity to explore the spectacular mountain scenery, remote and dramatic monasteries and pristine Himalayan culture of the region.

Day 01: Kathmandu to Paro (2,135m/7,000 ft)
Day 02: Explore the Paro valley and drive to Thimpu (2300m/7,544ft)
Day 03: Thimpu to Wangdiphodrang (1300m/4,264ft)
Day 04: Wangdiphodrang to Paro (2,135m/7,000 ft)
Day 05: Paro to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu to Paro (2,135m/7,000 ft)
Your flight should reward you with breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks before you land in Paro.  After landing, you will meet and be escorted to your hotel by our local representatives. In the remaining time, you will be free to relax and enjoy the surroundings of the beautiful Paro Valley and overnight at Paro. You may also want to try a traditional hot stone bath.
 
Day 02: Explore the Paro valley and drive to Thimpu (2300m/7,544ft)
In the early morning, we'll explore the Paro valley and around. A 16km drive will bring you to the ruined fortress of Drugyal Dzong with fine mountain views on a clear day, and then to the massive Rinpung Dzong, dating from 1645. After a picnic lunch on the river bank or in the hotel, we will enjoy a two-hour drive along the winding road following the river to the capital city of Thimphu. You will have some time to stroll through the town before dinner.
 
Day 03: Thimpu to Wangdiphodrang (1300m/4,264ft)
In the morning, you will visit the memorial chorten, the traditional painting, the wood craft school, the ancient manuscripts of the National Library, and the Handicrafts Emporium, where you can shop for traditional arts and crafts. After lunch, the tour will move on to Simtokha Dzong, one of the oldest fortresses in Bhutan, housing one of the largest Monastic schools. We will end the afternoon with a visit to Tashichho Dzong, a huge fortress housing government Ministries, the office, and the Throne Room of the King. After dinner, you will be completely free to walk or shop in the town.
 
Day 04: Wangdiphodrang to Paro (2,135m/7,000 ft)
After an early breakfast, you will drive up to Dochola Pass (26 km.) to enjoy a spectacular view of the Eastern Himalayas. We will then continue the trek to Dechencholing, to view the palace of the Queen Mother and a beautiful private monastery on top of the hill. After lunch, you will return to Paro and drive up to Satsam Chorten to view or spend enough time, climbing up to, the picturesque Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery perched on a rocky ledge with a sheer drop of 900m/2952ft. We will then take a continuous drive to Paro for the overnight.
 
Day 05: Departure from Paro
You will be escorted to Paro Airport for your return flight to your destination. If you have some time left before your flight back, you can spend the time roaming around in the places in the city of Paro.

The best time to trek to Druk Path Trek is from March-June and September-November. During these autumn and spring season, the weather is also favorable which makes the trek more fun. Also, the beauty of trek increases with the increase in greeneries and environment.

The maximum height you will go through in the Druk Path Trek is at 4210m. You will go through the Phume La Pass at the altitude of 4210m which is the featured part of the trek.
